What is Project 2-7-5? It is simply an avenue to show how YOU can help those fleeing the devastation of war in Ukraine. Our team on the ground in Ukraine is renting out a four-story hotel that has been operating for 27 days to welcome anyone who needs accommodation. The cost of the hotel is $275/night. That comes to $2000 a week. Some of the refugees arriving there are not leaving because they have nowhere to go. Some are just staying overnight. But they are all fed twice a day at no cost to them. Because of YOUR donations, they are not hungry. Because of YOUR donations, we were recently able to fill 5 van loads of food in Hungary, at a cost of $4000 each, and then transport that to our team. The food is used at the shelter but also disbursed to other parts of the country where it is needed. There are, and will continue to be, additional expenses. Gas. Medical supplies. Our team purchased the necessary kitchen equipment for cooking in the hotel. They purchased 4 vans that carry food, clothes, medicines and other assistance to hot spots. These same vans bring people back to the safety of western Ukraine.

We will be traveling to Ukraine in October to carry thermal underwear, socks, coats and hand warmers. We have created an Amazon Wish list so that everyone can participate. Just go to the link and purchase an item and it will be sent to us so that we can then pack it up and carry it to Ukraine before the cold winter months. www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1LCLD4ZPKNHBC?ref_=wl_share
Previous Projects: When Russia first invaded eastern Ukraine in 2014, we worked with government officials and charitable organizations in Ukraine to provide supplies to 500 orphaned children evacuated from the war zone of Donetsk. They needed underwear, socks, and feminine hygiene products. We have contract with suppliers in Ukraine to provide these at a discounted price.
Also,in 2013, Taryn Kilpatrick and Suzette Salathe had the opportunity to meet with the mayor of Krasnadon to discuss our work in his region. When war began, Grace to Ukraine had the opportunity to partner with the Birmingham Sister City - Ukraine Committee in collecting medical and first-aid items for wounded soldiers and civilians in Krasnadon and other areas of Lugansk. The special needs orphanage that we have supported is located in Krasnadon; we have also hosted from there.
